A – 124 is imparts excellent water resistance properties to paper and paperboard.
Physical Properties:
It is having dozing of 1.5 % – 1.8%;
A – 124 are intended for Direct Food Contact and they can widely be used both in microwave and baking applications. Treated Products show a low environmental impact as the treated substrates remain fully biodegradable and recyclable after the barrier treatment.
Our products have a proven safety profile certified both by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA 21 CFR 176.170), TSCA Listed and will be the German BfR XXXVI and XXXVI/2 Approved.
Our products are based on the PFOA-Free (PFOA Detection Limit – 5 ppb) and PFOS-Free Technology.
Our products can be used directly at paper and paperboard mills either on Size Press or in Wet-end. Our chemistry achieves the required performance with extremely low concentrations of around 1% for a two-sided high barrier on paper.
They are used as high barrier for Food Paper and in Pulp Molding.
They can be applied to either an External Sizing Method or an Internal Sizing Method.
Most importantly, 60% Bio-based Material is there.
From Corrugated Box to Food and Luxury Packaging
Whether you think of Strength, Surface Finish, Enhanced Printability or Packaging which is amenable with Food Contact Guidelines and provides a Barrier to Oil, Grease or Water, Thrive Chemtech LLP offers solutions and develops new alternatives through extensive scientific support.
Coatings
Our coatings are designed to impart moisture vapor barrier, anti-slip and high oil, grease & grease resistance properties depending on the product selected. We prevent the penetration of oils, fats and solvents along with providing fluorine-free and FDA Approved Protection against Water & Vapor. It can be applied by various techniques as in Blade, Rod or Curtaincoater. Non-contacted Drying is essentially needed to form the film fully.
Fluorobarriers
Our chemicals are highly efficient oil, grease and water resistance additives for the treatment of paper, board and molded pulp for food packaging. They provide a strong and long lasting barrier to oil, grease and water to packaging materials made of virgin or recycled fibers. As a Cationic Fluoropolymers, it has a strong affinity with cellulosic fibers and natural based binders such as starch and CMC. Also, they are suitable for backing applications.
External Sizing Method (Size Press, Coating):
Standard Formula: Use a 3 to 6% Solution of A-124
(It can be mixed with wetting and sizing agents to meet the application need)
Keep the pH of the solution slightly acid (less than pH 6.5)
Standard Drying Temperature: 100 to 120 °C (212 to 286 F)
Internal Sizing Method (Wet End):
Usage: Add A-124 to the Pulp slurry after it is appropriately diluted with water.
Standard Formula: Use a 1.8 to 2.5% of A-124 based on Dry Pulp Weight. Keep the
pulp slurry pH at 4.5 to 6.5 for the best results (Depends on the Required Level of Water Resistance)
If necessary, A-124 can be used in the combination with other agents such as a Paper Sizing
Agent and a Fixing Agent Standard Drying Temperature: 100 to 150 °C (212 to 286 F)
